Some Basic Tips for Effective Search Engine Optimization

by Ricardo d Argence

Optimizing your website is not difficult to do and something that everyone who has a site needs to start doing to be found. Page optimization refers to search engine optimization techniques used directly in the construction of web pages. It is important to provide visitors to your website with valuable content that makes them want to come back to your site again and again. That’ why SEO is not just engine optimization but optimizing the page for human readers.

Monitoring your use of keywords is important, as well as making sure your website’s content is indispensable. Stay away from keyword stuffing for it not only makes your website appear to be unintelligent and unprofessional but because search engines have caught on they penalize for the overuse of keywords. The goal is using keywords realistically and prudently. Keywords are often solely used to attract web search traffic.

Although traditional SEO identifies a keyword density of 2-7% as being ideal for on page optimization, changes in Google’s search engine operations indicate that a density of only 1-2% may be preferable (and easier to read). Make a list of commonly used search terms that relate to your subject and subtopics and sprinkle them throughout your site. Google’s latent semantic index (LSI) algorithm will also reward you for the use of similar phrases.

Keywords should not be limited to your page content. It is very important to include your keywords in your page titles.

Search engines recognize the content of one’s pages mostly based on the words that are utilized in the title pages. Unless you use keywords in your page titles, it will be necessary to include many more alternate links that point to your webpage in order to encourage people to visit your website.

When using keywords in the titles of your work, put them close to the beginning of your title and make sure that it is able to be read. To optimize search results, there should always be a title page.

Each page of your website should have its own unique, relatively short page title which utilizes the main keywords for that page. Remember that search engines only allow a certain number of characters to display in search results. Do not use your keywords more than two or three times in your title; for most keyword phrases, once should be enough.

Meta tags is a term you may read about when reading about “on page optimization” but because it was widely abused by spam, search engines don’t acknowledge them. There are very few SEO professionals who continue to depend on meta tags for web page optimization. If you decide to go ahead, make sure you only use meta keywords and descriptions so that these words and phrases show up on the page and are not going to be considered spam.

On page links to other relevant sites can also add to your search engine popularity. However, it is important that the links you provide are genuine and are directed to sites with related content that adds value to your visitors.

Page optimization is not that hard to do and it will largely benefit the success you will have with the search engines if you offer to your visitors excellent and relevant content.

Nice work Ricardo. This is one of those crucial aspects which are overlooked by many companies. In the latest advancements of the search engine spiders, search engine optimization has not left by mere re occurring your desired keywords, It is highly required that your website design and content should serve as an enticement to the web spiders. It’s of no use to have a site which doesn’t comply with the standards of search spiders. I got my medical website reconstructed from a web designer and marketing company named http://www.medicalwebexperts.com. They need to almost reconstruct every page to make it compliant with search engine algorithms. After a few months of time, the impact was definitely distinctive in my income. I have got a steady increase in the patients, which was a direct result of reconstructing and marketing my old obsolete site.
