5 Insider Secrets To Internet Marketing eBook Strategies

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you'd like to contribute articles to this blog, please Register. Thanks for visiting!

by Christopher Stigson

If you are one of the people looking to buy and ebook full of internet marketing strategies then you are most likely wondering what specifically to do about it. Newbies have trouble deciding what type of strategy to take and this article will help you decide more easily on what strategy to take.

Let’s get started….

Tip 1 out of 5: Professionalism and Expertise

You want to have a professional, or someone who knows what he or she is doing. In internet marketing, income, proof and experience beats everything. So when you want to buy an e-book and not just collect free digital dust anymore, you’ll want to seek professional tips and tricks.

Tip 2 out of 5: Proof

Proof… Oh man, this is a biggie for anyone who is a bit seasoned in the game, but when you are a “newbie” it’s not easy to recognize “truth” from “fiction”. Some people make outrageous income claims which nobody who has been around would believe… But when you are starting out, it’s not uncommon to fall for these types of “emotional triggers”, I know I did when I was new.

Tip 3 out of 5: Credibility

Who is writing? If you google this website owners name, will you find multiple websites created by the same person on the same topic? Are there articles or blogs with this person as the writer? Does he/she sell similar products on similar sites with a newsletter or e-mails service? If they do it’s usually fair to say that they have the credibility to back it up.

If you want even more credibility, look for testimonials. If the website has nice testimonials from solid people or websites it’s fair to say it’s credible. Are the testimonials video or audio? If some of these things are true then you are looking at someone who is backed by a good crowd.

Tip 4 out of 5: Overall Design

If the website looks like it’s created by a 5 year old then odds are you should stay away! See, a professionally desgined website just sticks out at you and the odds of them being more professional is greater.

Tip 5 out of 5: Other people are recommending the product.

This means that if you search for things like “review” or “testimonial” or “success story” on Google you find at least one or two website that have a solid review of the product. This is VERY common and should indicate a serious business owner who has gone great lengths to find affiliates and joint venture partners.

How to Ruin Your Google PageRank

by Tom Sommers

All website owners and webmasters want a high pagerank (PR) for their site. A higher PR means a higher rank in the search engines and higher traffic volume. That’s a no-brainer. The problem is that some things you do to try to increase your PR can get you into trouble. Some can end up only lowering your PR and some can actually get you banned from Google entirely.

One frequent mistake is for new website owners to plaster their sites with all sorts of banners and ads. You have probably seen the ones with so many flashing ads that you have to look away before you start having seizures. When Google sees too many outgoing links on your site they think your site is just a link farm, and you will get penalized.

Adding new pages to your site won’t increase your PR unless you understand how to link them properly. Each new page you add needs to be linked to an important page in your site. This is because Google won’t index pages that have not been linked to other pages.

But not only do they need to be linked to an important page, they also have to be linked to from at least one other page in your site. Of course, there are certain types of pages that should never be added. These are pages that are all identical, or nearly identical, and are known as cookie-cutters. Google considers them to be spam and they can cause the pages, and possibly the entire site, to be penalized.

You need backlinks from other sites to yours, but getting that link from a huge site may not benefit you very much. You could benefit more by getting a lot of links from lower pagerank sites, which are easier to get. This could help your PR more than that one monster site.

The general consensus on the internet is that the best way to boost your pagerank is to forget about it and concentrate on the quality and content of your site. Make a high quality site that offers value to your customers and other people will naturally want to link to it. If you opt for an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) service make sure they are reputable and don’t participate in the questionable linking schemes taking place.

How to Micro-Manage Your Adwords Campaign

by Brian Basch

Advertisements are all around us. They are all filling our ears with the incredible profits that can be made with Adwords, when you use this tool to sell your products. The most amazing thing is the fact that it only takes 2-3 hours per day.

What they fail to tell you is the fact that working just 2-3 hours a day is not the norm. In fact few people can perfect this type of regime. There are just too many things to take care of, especially if you are new to the game. In fact no other promotion requires as much micro-management as an Adwords campaign.

Consider this. Initially you will find popular keywords when you use Google’s databse of keywords. By using the keywords that you might use for searching for your product you will get together a second list of keywords. lastly you will compare these keywords to Google’s.

Now that you have all your keywords ready, it is time to start bidding on them. Of course just writing an email to Google asking their permission to use a keyword in exchange for a fee is not going to work. Google has a better way of handling this. Google will place ads in certain positions, those that are in the top will be viewed more and will obviously bring in better returns for both parties.

Adwords works on a pay per click system. Every time a reader clicks your ad you will be charged a nominal fee. You will do this regardless of whether a sale is completed. The better the click through rate the more money Google makes. The highest bidder will attain the best position for an ad.

It is important to keep a close eye on your campaign, once you have completed the bidding and the ad is active. You will need to be aware of minute details, especially keyword popularity. Keyword popularity can fluctuate and unpopular keywords will not bring in the money.

You may not become a millionaire by working on your Google Adwords campaign for just few hours per day. However you will become an expert at multi tasking and micromanaging your campaign. As you learn more you will very likely find that Adwords will indeed bring in profits for your business.

With Google Adwords’ tools and tutorials you will become a master of detailed management very quickly. This will enable you to spend less time managing your campaigns and more time finding ways to profit with your business.

Overview of Online Video Advertising Formats

by Mark Robertson of ReelSEO.com

With the incredible rapid growth that online video sharing and video search sites are realizing, more and more advertisers are pumping money into video advertising. According to the latest research, online video advertising revenues in the US are expected to reach $7.1 billion by 2012 which is a 72 percent compound annual growth rate for the next five years. In 2008, the projections are just shy of $1billion.

Due to the overwhelming demand from advertisers to develop effective methods for online video advertising delivery, some of the online video sharing giants have implemented various forms of online video ad formats. Historically, in-stream ads, also known as pre-roll ads, mid-roll, and post-roll, have been the dominant standard in terms of the format most advertisers gravitated towards due to the prominence of the ad content itself.

Pre-Roll Video Ads: Pre roll advertisements start before the video begins and the viewer has to sit through the entire advertisement, if he does not want to rely on chances, rather wants to ensure that ha can watch every single second of the video from its beginning.

Post-roll Video Ads: In post-roll ads, just like pre-roll, a 15 or 30 sec clip is streamed at the end of a video itself. This is usually launched in conjunction with pre-roll as well as often times, the advertiser never gets their ad seen as users most often only watch part of the video.

Mid-Roll Format - With mid-rolls, a short clip is streamed in the middle (sometimes every X minutes) of video content that is playing. This tends to be less annoying to users as they are acustomed to this format in television advertising.

As stated earlier, due to the demand, many of these video websites have begun to test and offer new, innovative ad solution for video. One of these experimental format is the In-Player ad: With in-player ads the player skin itself can be used to place relevant images or text content for the advertiser so that the ad is displayed for the entire time that the video is played.

One of the most promising video advertisement formats is contextual advertising which attempts to match advertisements with the most relevant content and visa-versa. This ad itself can take of various different forms, in-video banners, lower-thirds, and contextual text overlay advertisements. The nice thing about this particular method is that it does not disturb the viewing of the video and it responds only when the viewer clicks on it.

Some of the video sites like to go through the video and include only relevant in-video text advertisements, which match the contents of the video and at the same time it does not disturb the process of video watching by the viewer. Youtube was one of the first sites to adopt this format as a standard and it is called Overlay Video Ads.

Although there are a few other formats that are being tested and utilized, the formats that I covered are the most commonly used formats at the moment. That being said, with the attention on this sector as it is, we will likely continue to see rapid innovation and will keep our eye out for the next best online video ad format.

Outsmart Microsoft using a Web 3.0 Facebook Friend Adder?

by Matthew Loop

You may not be smarter than Bill Gates, but you can still beat him at his own game! According to his own calculations - paying two hundred and forty million dollars for a mere 1.6 percent stake in Facebook - Microsoft and Mr. Gates has essentially valued the world’s hottest social networking site at an eye-popping fifteen billion dollars.

Why would the world’s biggest computer company put so much into a website where users hang out and “poke” each other just for fun? Because they, along with other massive internet operations like Yahoo! and Google, see Facebook as the face of Web 3.0 (beyond Web 2.0) and the future of internet marketing.

The question is how do smaller marketers get a piece of this giant pie? There is a simple, easy way and it certainly doesn’t take hundreds of millions of dollars. But first, what makes Facebook a marketing must all of a sudden?

Facebook is adding users at an incredible rate of over two hundred thousand a day to its already large base of fifty million. The website is also a prime example of semantic web development, a function of what’s being called Web 3.0, where the operating system within the website becomes more important than the operating system (such as Windows) that’s used on your computer itself.

Facebook’s interface provides over five thousand free Facebook tools, called “applications,” that allow the user a dizzying array of activities, games, quizzes, sharing and messaging devices to either interact with their “friends” or just to augment their own personal profiles. It’s this kind of personal playground atmosphere that’s attracted so many new people to the Facebook family.

And Facebook is determined to keep expanding by continuing to “internationalize” the site and bring other countries around the world into the online community. This intense combination of incredible growth and evolving technology has internet marketers hungry for a piece of this fresh, new and massive database.

No wonder Microsoft opened up their wallet so wide. Facebook just might be the “perfect storm” of marketing opportunity that the super-corporations are searching high and low for - and willing to pay what it takes to be in the mix.

The simple secret that the super-corporations miss, however, is that you don’t have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to “own” a piece of or participate in the dazzling Facebook marketing opportunity. There’s a much cheaper and easier way for your marketing operation to get a shot at those new and desirable Facebook users.

The secret is to use a Facebook Bot or Facebook Friend Adder. Once such “bot,” called Stealth Friend Bomber, Facebook Edition, can send your marketing message to the masses with tools like Mass Facebook Friend Pokes, Mass Facebook Friend Requests and Mass Facebook Friend Messages. Enabling the smaller marketer to play on the same field as Bill Gates and the other big boys, this Facebook Friend Adder is the must-have Facebook marketing software of 2007. With the new Facebook Bot Stealth Friend Bomber, you’ll add new Facebook friends to your marketing base until you’ve poked everyone on the site with your marketing message.

A Guaranteed Money Maker: Product Recommendations

by Tim Johnson

I’ve noticed that it has become a rising trend to mix affiliate marketing and advertising in hopes of making money online. Many people now simply put up “click here” and “buy this” affiliate links, as well as banners and pop ups, and expect people to buy whatever they see.

Well news flash! While this might make you a couple of bucks, you are throwing away your long term potential, and chances are you will never see big success. That’s because simply redirecting as much traffic as possible to an affiliate site is not the true nature of affiliate marketing.

As an affiliate, you are supposed to be someone who is a credible source of information. Someone who can be trusted, and someone who can in turn recommend a product. Without that element of trust, your efforts will not be nearly as successful as they could be.

To start building credibility, you should give your website visitors or mailing list subscribers, whatever the case may be, great information that they can really use. This helps to establish yourself as an expert in the field, and because of this, you become someone they can trust.

By recommending products right away, you will undoubtedly sound like a sales person. People want help, they don’t want to be sold to. Without giving them any information, you aren’t someone they will trust, and nobody wants to just hand over their money to a “stranger”.

As you slowly gain your readers trust, you can finally make product recommendations that will be taken seriously. Truth and honesty will score you the biggest points here. Be sure to outline how a product will directly benefit or help them, in a personable way. Don’t be afraid to mention a negative aspect as well if needed, most products aren’t perfect and people know that. By doing this, the reader will see your honesty, and will not feel as if you are just selling to them.

Only promote products that you have personally tried and tested, and that you really believe will help your readers; because if you promote even one junk product, your credibility can be severely compromised. A great thing about promoting a product you know well is that you can mention additional information or solutions that perhaps the product did not contain, and in turn you are making more subtle and natural recommendations.

Finally, you can take all these strategies and create a highly profitable product review web site, where you can use these genuine recommendations and create reviews that are honest and truthful. If people are searching specifically for reviews, chances are that they are ready to buy, and your genuine review can easily earn you that juicy commission!

The Face of Friend Adder Marketing. Facebook?

by Matthew Loop

Anything Microsoft would pay 240 million for just over one and a half percent of has to be a pretty big deal. And that pretty big deal, in which the computer behemoth triumphed over Yahoo! and Google, officially certified Facebook’s status as the hottest online social site around. And because of the Microsoft payout, Facebook has a value estimated at 15 billion

What is it? It’s Facebook, the hugest potential opportunity for internet marketers who need to keep up to speed with Web 2.0 / Web 3.0 and the semantic web explosion. Facebook’s one-of-a-kind social network is seen as the vanguard of entirely new operating systems that, unlike Windows, exist only on the internet rather than on your computer. It’s an online community that a fresh, new mass of internet users, just discovering this innovative virtual environment, is flocking to in droves just to find new friends to Poke - and, in the process, creating a whole new dynamic marketing base.

A big draw to the site is all the free Facebook tools and applications that users can use to either interact with their Facebook network or just use to display their own personal preferences. You can have a zombie fight, share your favorite music, challenge a friend to a virtual race with a virtual car, exchange quizzes, or just throw a sheep to get someone’s attention.

It’s also creating a fresh, new and exciting marketing base that’s engaged and happy to just hang around this new virtual environment whenever time allows. The choices abound and seem endless for users - they can do a SuperPoke, send a flower, give a hug, compare quiz results or movie compatibility or do whatever as they find new creative ways to interact with old friends or new. This is all because of a critical decision made by the Facebook management to allow third parties to contribute new Facebook tools and applications in return for a piece of the revenue - resulting in over 5000 new apps in just six months.

So forget Friendster and keep watching MySpace deteriorate into MySpam, the millions of Facebook friends is a whole new attractive group of millions and millions ready to be marketing to in a whole new way. But how do you take advantage quickly - and tap your marketing operation seamlessly into that massive Facebook database? And do it in a painless automated way, leaving you free to continue to manage and expand your business?

How does the smaller internet marketer compete with the resources of a Microsoft in getting a piece of the Facebook action is the big question, however. Fortunately, there’s an answer that works

One of the most effective software packages is the Stealth Friend Bomber, Facebook Edition. Stealth Friend Bomber will automatically generate Mass Facebook Friend Requests, Messages and Pokes to users all across the Facebook site. This stand-out among Facebook tools does everything you need and more to stay on top of the site that’s experiencing a rate of explosive growth that’s quickly leaving other friendship sites in the dust.

So face up to the big changes that Facebook is bringing to the online marketing world. Those changes are here to stay - until, of course, the next big changes occur.

Blogging For Visitors - Increasing Your Website Traffic

by Theo McLanahan

If you want to get more visitors to your website (and who doesn’t?) you should look at starting a blog. Blogs are an excellent way to get visitors engaged at your site, and open communications with them. These tips will help you use your blog to generate traffic.

First of all, make sure you’re posting regularly - at least every other day. If your blog is updated regularly, you’re giving your readers a reason to return often. If your posts are timely and helpful, you’ll become known as an expert in your market.

They will turn to your blog as a way to seek answers to their questions. Posting regularly also develops a relationship between you and your customer. They will get to know you and trust your opinion.

If you install a system like Feedburner on your blog, you’ll make it easier for your customer to stay up to date. They’ll be able to easily subscribe to your blog and they can choose how they want to receive updates - email, RSS reader, etc. These services range from free to fairly low cost and the setup is quite easy - you simply install a piece of code or a widget into your blog.

It’s also a good idea to have a “blogroll” on your blog site. This is basically a list of related blogs that you feel will help your readers. When you link to other blogs this way, they will see it and often will link back to your blog. This can help to widen your audience by reaching readers on other blogs. Just make sure the blogs you link to are related to the subject of yours.

One of the easiest ways to drive traffic to your website through your blog is by linking back to the site every time you write a new blog post. Whenever you add a new article to your main website, post a teaser excerpt on your blog along with a link to the full article on your website.

It’s also a good idea to link to existing articles from your blog, particularly if they are suddenly timely again. For example, if your website has an article about Halloween costumes for kids, post a new link to it on your blog every year around Halloween.

As you start practicing these strategies check your page stats and see how many visitors are coming to your site through links placed on your blog. You will get a better idea of what is working and will be able to increase traffic even further.

Web 3.0 Marketing: Who’s Fighting Over the Facebook Bot

by Sam B. Goldberg

It’s just a little over 3 years old, but only recently has it seen its status and fame grow and grow. The emblem of Web2.0 / Web 3.0 and the semantic web movement, Facebook is the internet social networking site that’s suddenly sizzling with activity - and naturally, the powers-that-be are beating down the door to get their share of the marketing dollars to be had.

Microsoft, Yahoo! and Google reportedly were locked in a bitter behind-the-scenes battle over buying a prominent piece of Facebook - with Microsoft left standing victorious with a 1.6 percent stake for an astronomical price of two hundred and forty million dollars - shooting up the total Facebook value to roughly fifteen billion.

Why the big payday for Facebook? Microsoft is afraid of losing control of the next generation of computer users, who make up a big part of Facebook’s user base. With Google’s aggressive internet marketing presence becoming a fact of life, Microsoft has no choice but to throw cash at Facebook so it won’t be left behind. Kevin Johnson, president of the platforms and services division at Microsoft, called the epic deal a “major advertising syndication win for Microsoft.”

It’s also a major win for Facebook’s continuing growth. The company will be doubling its workforce in the next year and will be aggressive in its international expansion. Facebook is also expected to announce a new advertising system very shortly. “We were very fortunate to have a lot of folks interested in a partnership with us around advertising,” said Owen Van Natta, chief revenue officer of Facebook.

So why are online marketers falling all over themselves to get to Facebook? With fifty million active members and an amazing two hundred thousand more signing on every day, Facebook’s one-of-a-kind social networking interface is a pioneer of Web 3.0. Their systems operate entirely online, independent of your computer’s OS. Facebook is a cheap, easy and fun way for users to entertain themselves and their friends, thanks to the more than five thousand unique free tools developed for Facebook since May of 2007. Who can resist throwing a chicken at a friend, doodling on a Superwall, or dedicating a song to a would-be partner?

It’s quite clear that if Google and Microsoft see big revenue streams potentially flowing from Facebook, that opportunities abound for all marketers, big or little. But how can David effectively compete with Goliath in this case? There is a way and it doesn’t involve a rock and a slingshot.

Luckily for the little guy, there is hope. The Stealth Friend Bomber, Facebook Edition is a new, innovative and highly effective Facebook marketing tool. This simple software is totally automated, using a Facebook bot called a Facebook Friend Adder to deliver your message to the Facebook masses via Mass Facebook Friend Pokes, Messages and Requests. Suddenly, your business is part of the Facebook community, marking to an audience of millions.

With Facebook clearly emerging as the new standard for both technology and the marketing on the internet, the challenge is clear. Savvy marketers need a set of software tricks tailored to reaching the millions of users of the internet’s hottest and fastest-growing social network.
