Memories are a major factor in how we are impacted. Memories are saved as pictures which can be accessed much easier than words. They can capture both emotions and feelings in one picture image. Remember, “A Picture is worth a thousand words.”
Do you recall all of the words that you read on the screen, or do you remeber the pictures and how the ad made you feel? Visualizations are very important in capturing people’s attention.
Emotions as well as memories play a major role in decision making. Human behavior is mostly influenced by emotions and not by logic and reason. The influence that our memories have on us drive our emotions. We want our marketing to spur emotions.
I want you to think of a word such as anger. In what way does this look to you. Was there a picture or just some facts. You probably saw an image. According to scientists, decision making cannot happen without an emotional response. This response comes from the limbic system. Without the emotion, the concious mind is unable to make a decision.
People need to access emotions to influence there behavior. Emotion drives higher traffic. Buyers want to be impacted. To effectively market, you want to figure out how consumers relate to your product and certain experiences. These experiences will bring up emotions which will influence their behavior.
Ever wonder why you watch a commercial with amazing visuals full of party lights, dancing people and fun; only to find out it is about lip gloss? There are minimal words but lots of emotion. Now the lip gloss in your mind is tied to friends and fun.
Unveiling common emotional responses will give you insight on what you must do and say to succeed with internet marketing. How your customers feel about your product is an important question. We want our customers to trust us. Understanding the mind will help you greatly with an online traffic formula.
